BAN vs SL: Watch: Mushfiqur Rahim Grabs A Blinder To Remove Kusal Perera

Mushfiqur Rahim was spot on with his keeping skills in the ongoing match 38th of the ICC World Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka. The game between the two Asian Giants is taking place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. 

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first. They are off the flyer as Shoriful Islam drew the first blood for his team in the very first over. He removed Kusal Perera but it’s fair to say that the credit for that wicket goes to keeper Mushfiqur Rahim. 

Shoriful Islam bowled a good length delivery outside off, that was moving away. Kusal Perera tried to play an expansive shot over covers. But to his misfortune, he got a thick nick behind. Mushfiqur Rahim displayed a staggering work behind the stumps. 

The keeper-batter batter moved to his left and leaped like a goalkeeper to gobble a one-handed stunner with his left hand. Kusal Perera scored just 4 runs off 5 balls as his torrid run in the tournament continued. Here’s the video of his dismissal:

The onus will now be on skipper Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka to take the team forward and give a good start. It’ll be an extremely crucial match for both teams. For Sri Lanka, a win would keep them in the race for a semi-finals whereas for Bangladesh, a win would put them in contention to qualify for the Champions Trophy 2025.

Bangladesh had one forced change to their XI. Mustafizur Rahman wasn’t well ahead of the team and was replaced by Tanzim Shakib in the team. Whereas rest of the team is pretty similar to what they fielded in the last game.
