Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has fired a warning to Team India ahead of the crucial game between the two teams in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

Unlike India, Bangladesh began their campaign in the Super 8s with a loss. The Bangla Tigers suffered a 28-run defeat (DLS method) against Australia on Friday (June 21). Before losing against Australia, Bangladesh had a memorable campaign in the group stage as they won three of the four games. It is their best-ever display in a T20 World Cup.

However, the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side could not replicate those winning performances against Australia. Asked to bat first, Bangladesh scored 140 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs with captain Najmul Hossain Shanto's 41-run knock being the best effort with the bat. In reply, Australia were on 100 for 2 in the 12th over when rain brought a premature end to the game. Australia were well ahead of the par score and were adjudged the winners.

Najmul Hossain Shanto's warning for Team India:

After the loss against Australia, the remaining two games are must-win clashes for Bangladesh. Another defeat could very well end their slim chances of making it to the semifinal. In their next Super 8s game, they will be facing India who began their Super 8s campaign with a win over Afghanistan.

And ahead of the game. Najmul Hossain Shanto has vowed to come up with a better performance. The Bangladesh captain has said that his team will go for the win in both games. After the game against India, Bangladesh will be facing Afghanistan in their last Super 8s game,

"The next two matches are important. There is a lot to gain from them. If we can win them, we will be in a better condition. We will play to win every match," Najmul Hossain Shanto said at the post-match press conference.

India and Bangladesh had faced each other earlier this month in a warm-up game. India had won that game with utmost ease and will be fancying their chances again. However, Bangladesh have troubled India on a number of occasions in the recent past and could spring a few surprises again.
