Bangladesh Cricket Board's cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus, who is also the director of the cricket board, has stepped down from the post with immediate effect. His decision comes after the change in Bangladesh's government following the turmoil in the country related to the anti-government agitations.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has come under scrutiny after the change in the government following the student protests that forced the Awami League government to resign on August 5. As a result of this Jalal Yunus became the first director to resign from the current board.

Jalal Yunus confirmed his resignation to Cricbuzz. The outgoing Cricket Board's director and cricket operation chairman stated: "I have resigned from the board for the interest of cricket." This comes as a massive shock because he has been in charge of the board for a while.

With Jalal Yunus resigning as the Cricket Board's cricket operation chairman, is expected that there are some more changes likely to happen in the board. Recently, the President of the board, Nazmul Hassan, also expressed his willingness to resign in the interest of supporting cricket and cooperating with the board.

Nazmul Hassan has been serving his fourth term as a chairman and has flown away from the country amid the protests. He will be stepping down from the post as a few of the former cricket board officials and organizers have come to the Sher-e-Bangla National to demand resignations of the Nazmul-led panel from the board.

Meanwhile, on the cricketing front, the National Cricket Team is gearing up for the two-match Test series against the Pakistan National Cricket Team. The games will be part of the ICC World Test Championship, and it will be a crucial series for both teams.

The Test series between Pakistan and the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side will begin on 21st August. The game will be played in Rawalpindi, which will be a grassy track. The second match, which was scheduled to take place in Karachi on 30th March, has also been shifted to Rawalpindi due to construction work. The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side would be keen to make an impact and give people back home something to cheer about.

Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe shares his insights on fast bowlers ahead of the Pakistan series

Head coach of the team Chandika Hathurusinghe talked about the fast bowlers in the squad, saying that they have an inexperienced lineup which keeps them a bit below the Pakistan bowlers. He also expressed his sadness over people who lost their lives back home. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

"Bangladesh has picked talented fast-bowlers in recent times, but they don't have experience of even twenty test matches altogether, which is the main difference between bowlers of Pakistan and Bangladesh."

"Many families lost their loved ones in Bangladesh recently," he added.

The pace attack of the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side has some exciting names and Taskin Ahmed has also made his way back. With Pakistan batters struggling to get going of late, the visitors can surely have their moments in the game and might even pip the opposition.
