A batting disaster for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their opening match of the ongoing IPL 2026 season. Against the Rajasthan Royals, CSK was reduced to only 127 runs in 19.4 overs against all of their 10 batters.
CSK, who have stars like Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sarfaraz Khan, and even Ayush Mhatre in their batting line-up, craved for runs against the bowling department of RR. At one point in the match, even the 100-mark run was looking far away from their grasp. Jamie Overton was the only one for CSK, who somehow managed to drag the team to a respectable total.

The batting collapse no one saw coming. Without MS Dhoni and Dewald Brevis in the line-up, they simply could not find their ground to stand firmly against the Rajasthan Royals bowlers. After the quick wickets inside the power play, RR took the momentum completely in their grip.
Ravindra Jadeja haunts back former side
The pace of the attack of RR caused the early damage. The pair of Nandre Burger and Jofra Archer rocked the opposing team so badly that they could not find a way to make a comeback in the contest.
Ravindra Jadeja, who was with the Chennai Super Kings until the last season, also joined the bowlers' feast in style. Burger, Archer, and Jadeja claimed a brace each in their bowling spells. One wicket each for Sandeep Sharma, Brijesh Sharma, and Ravi Bishnoi.
Coming out to chase, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gave RR a blazing start as they scored 78 for the first wicket and took the game away from the Men in Yellow.
