Sanath Jayasuriya on MI And Sachin Tendulkar
Sanath Jayasuriya was seen interacting with Sportskeeda and when asked about MI. “Mumbai is my second home. In and out we were there and playing. The team and the team owners were really good and they looked after all the players. It’s like a family.”
He was asked about batting with Sachin Tendulkar. “It’s about keeping things simple. We didn’t complicate things and they always wanted me to play my natural game. So I needed to be smart to make sure that I tried and get a big score,” he stated.
“Batting with Sachin was quite relaxing as he would always come and say what to do. He always kept talking about ways to execute and win matches,” Jayasuriya said.
Sanath Jayasuriya a Great Batter
The left-handed batter had developed a fear amongst the best teams in World Cricket. The batter had all the shots in the book and was quite entertaining for the crowd and spectators. Sanath was a 3 Dimensional batter who wasn’t just reliant on the short-pitch deliveries.
Sanath was also a handy left-arm off-spinner who had taken 323 wickets in the ODI format. He was a complete package and whenever the team was in trouble, the captain used to look at him. Sanath’s peculiarity was that he never got under pressure irrespective of the conditions and he was one of the reason where Sri Lanka Cricket was great at that time.
