BBL 2023-24: Watch - Michael Neser Takes A Tremendous Catch In The Outfield
Michael Neser took a stunning catch in the Big Bash League (BBL) clash between Brisbane Heat and the defending champions Perth Scorchers. He took the catch of Cooper Connolly who tried to pull Xavier Bartlett only to get a leading edge as the ball went high in the air. Michael Neser was quick to run backwards from mid-wicket and completed a superb diving catch in the outfield.
Brisbane Heat has been the best team in the BBL this season so far. They are the first team to qualify for the final round as they finished top of the table this season. The match ended in Perth Scorchers’ favour as they defeated Brisbane Heat by 35 runs but Michael Neser’s catch was one of the highlights of the match. With this win, Perth Scorchers have also qualified for the final round and now have the opportunity to defend their title once more and win it three consecutive times.
Perth Scorchers were struggling on 49/4 when Cooper Connolly came into bat. He was going well and was looking to rebuild the innings for Scorchers but during the 16th over of the innings he tried to pull a short ball bowled by Xavier Bartlett it took the leading edge and the ball went high in the air between deep mid-wicket and Long-on.
Michael Neser who was standing at mid-wicket started running backwards as soon as the ball went in the air and kept his eyes on the ball following it. He dived and took a blinder to complete the catch and dismiss Cooper Connolly on 35. The Perth Scorchers were reduced to 111/6 after this catch and the Brisbane Heat released a video of the catch taken by Michael Neser.

Michael Neser took two wickets in the match against Perth Scorchers in his spell of three overs while giving 21 runs. He failed with the bat getting out on a golden duck while Brisbane Heat was chasing a target of 164 against Perth Scorchers. The Big Bash League is currently at a very interesting stage as three teams have confirmed their place in the top four while one spot is still to be filled and the competition for the last spot is between Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers.
Brisbane Heat have already qualified for the qualifiers which means they will get another opportunity if they lose the qualifiers. They will finish as the table toppers of BBL this season as they lost only one game against Perth Scorchers this season. Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers will battle for the second position on Tuesday and the winner will compete with the Brisbane Heats in the Qualifiers of the BBL.
The fourth and final spot could be either taken by Adelaide Strikers or Melbourne Stars. The Adelaide Strikers will give it their all in the final league game against Sydney Thunder and even if they win they would have to hope that Melbourne Stars lose one of their last two league games if they want to go ahead in the BBL this season.
