Mitchell Marsh leads the way as the Perth Scorchers are off to their 6th BBL title

Mitchell Marsh, the Australian captain in the shortest format of the game, redefined his aura with a stunning innings in the BBL final. Though the innings were not very fast from a batting point of view, Marsh's run-a-ball 44 helped the Scorchers see them through the low-scoring thriller.

After having bowled out the Sixers for just 132 runs, the Scorchers finally chased 133 runs in 17.3 overs and won their sixth title in the history of the BBL. The skipper has a huge boost ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup campaign in India and Sri Lanka.

Several players from the ICC T20 World Cup squad for Australia are part of the Perth Scorchers, a team that includes Mitchell Marsh, Josh Inglis, and Cooper Connolly. The Scorchers won their sixth title with 6 wickets in hand.

Perth Scorchers defeat Sydney Sixers for a record 4th time in a BBL final

In a massive new record, the Perth Scorchers surpassed the record number of wins of the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings to win a T20 competition for the sixth time. The Scorchers, alongside the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, had formerly won it five times.

Having played 9 finals in the history of the BBL, they have an amazing conversion rate and have gone on to defeat the Sydney Sixers for a record four times out of the six times they have won the Big Bash League title.

The Sydney Sixers, on the contrary, have defeated the Perth Scorchers twice in BBL finals. Hence, the two teams have competed in a total of 6 of the 15 BBL finals.
