BCB Unlikely To Grant NOC To Shakib Al Hasan For CPL 2021

Superstar Bangladesh all-rounder and former captain Shakib Al Hasan might not get the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021.
Shakib Al Hasan has re-signed with the Jamaica Tallawahs for the upcoming 9th edition of the tournament. He had been part of the franchise in 2016 and 2017, where he won the title in his first season, before moving to Barbados Tridents in 2019 and winning the title with them.
The CPL 2021 is, at the moment, scheduled to run from August 28 to September 19; the calendar can be tweaked after BCCI announcing that they will conduct the remaining of the IPL 2021 in September-October.
“We have not taken any decision about it (NOC for CPL). When the time comes we can take a decision in this regard. We certainly want to play against them with our full strength squad,” Akram Khan told Cricbuzz.
Shakib Al Hasan has to inform BCB about his commitments beforehand according to the new clause
In the same report on Cricbuzz, it was also revealed that the players could be given an option to state their availability for the national team informing the board beforehand about their commitments to other franchise leagues.
The decision to include this clause was jigged up after Shakib Al Hasan skipped the Sri Lanka Test series to play in the IPL 2021 for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Then also there were plenty of public altercations between the left-hander and the board.
Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan recently had a disappointing time with the bat in the home ODI series against Sri Lanka. He returned with scores of 15, 0, and 4, in addition to 3 wickets.
“Of course, my expectations weren’t fulfilled during the series. But I have to ensure that these things won’t happen next and it’s very important,” the all-rounder said on his performances.
He has also pulled out of the Pakistan Super League, to start in June in UAE, in order to feature in the Dhaka Premier League.
