BCCI AGM No. 94: Full list of key decisions, including Mithun Manhas’ appointment as President

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at its headquarters in Mumbai on Sunday, September 28. Notably, the BCCI made major changes to its administration and selection setup to strengthen board management and enhance decision-making for Indian cricket.

BCCI officials, including secretary Devajit Saikia and IPL chairman Arun Dhumal, attended the key meeting that began at 12 pm. After concluding the session early, some officials flew to Dubai for the India-Pakistan match, while newly elected board members stayed in India, opting to skip the high-profile game.

Mithun Manhas Unanimously Elected as the 37th President BCCI on Sunday

Former Delhi cricketer Mithun Manhas was unanimously elected as the 37th president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Roger Binny had resigned last month upon reaching the age limit of 70. Manhas was the first uncapped player to become president of the board.

Rajeev Shukla was appointed vice president, while Devajit Saikia and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia took charge as secretary and joint secretary, respectively. A. Raghuram Bhat was named treasurer, while Jaydev Shah was elected as the sole representative of the General Body in the Apex Council.

The Indian Premier League Governing Council also made new appointments with Arun Singh Dhumal and Khairul Jamal Majumdar. The board was reshuffled to strengthen governance, improve decision-making, and provide better support for both Indian cricket and domestic competitions.

RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha Inducted Into Men's National Selection Panel

During the meeting, former India cricketers RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha were inducted into the men’s national selection panel. Ajit Agarkar, Shiv Sundar Das, and Ajay Ratra retained their roles. Singh and Ojha replaced S. Sharath and Subroto Banerjee in the panel.

In the women’s selection panel, former India fast bowler Amita Sharma was named chairperson, replacing Neetu David. She was joined by Shyama Dey, Jaya Sharma, Sravanthi Naidu, and Sulakshana Naik.

The new women’s panel was set to begin its tenure after the Women’s World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, which was scheduled from September 30 to November 2.

Sharath, who had worked in the men’s selection panel, rejoined the junior cricket committee as chairperson. Harvinder Sodhi, Pathik Patel, Krishna Mohan, and Ranadeb Bose were part of the Junior Cricket Committee.

Jayesh George Appointed as First-Ever Chairman of Women's Premier League

Kerala Cricket Association president Jayesh George was appointed as the first-ever chairman of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), with his selection unanimously approved by the BCCI.

The WPL committee included Jayesh George as chairperson, along with Mithun Manhas, Rajeev Shukla, Devajit Saikia, Prabhtej Bhatia, A. Raghuram Bhat, Madhumati Lele, Sanjay Tandon, R. I. Palani, and Arun Singh Dhumal.

The Infrastructure Committee was headed by Rohan Jaitley, with members including Mithun Manhas, Rajeev Shukla, Devajit Saikia, Prabhtej Bhatia, A. Raghuram Bhat, Anirudh Chaudhury, and Sana Sathish Babu.
