The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday (November 28) announced a fresh series for India next month after the Bangladesh tour was postponed. Recently, India’s scheduled white-ball matches against Bangladesh were postponed due to political tensions between the two countries.
India and Bangladesh were scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is against Bangladesh in December. Now, the BCCI has decided to utilise this vacant window with the five-match T20I series against another Asian side—Sri Lanka.

This series gives the Indian players much-needed match time before the next season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, followed by the highly awaited tour of Australia early next year. India will play three ODIs, one Test, and three T20Is in Australia in February-March.
