Amidst the swirling rumors of unrest around the Indian cricket team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been quietly taking action to bring peace as the team is gearing up to face South Africa in the second ODI on Wednesday, December 3, in Raipur.

As reported by Revsportz, the BCCI quietly sent the Indian selector Pragyan Ojha to Ranchi to ease the growing tension between head coach Gautam Gambhir and senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Ojha had even then traveled to Raipur with the Indian side.

The Indian selector’s task was to act as a bridge and make sure everything inside the dressing room stays calm during the ongoing three-match ODI series against South Africa, following the growing rift between Gautam Gambhir and the two giants of Indian cricket.

However, despite the ongoing buzz, no BCCI meeting has been scheduled in Raipur, where India and South Africa will clash in the second ODI on Wednesday. For now, everything remains behind closed doors, with the players and team management keeping lips tight in the same.

BCCI to unveil new T20 jersey in Raipur

Meanwhile, Raipur is gearing up for another major moment apart from the second ODI between India and the Proteas side. The BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia is set to arrive in the city to unveil India’s brand-new T20 jersey, which will be worn during the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa. This same jersey will also be India’s kit for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

A Revsportz journalist posted, X: “So Pragyan Ojha was sent to Ranchi by BCCI to act as a mediator between Gambhir and Rohit & Virat. No meeting scheduled in Raipur. BCCI secretary will be in Raipur for the launch of the new T20 jersey ahead of next year’s World Cup.”

Indian cricket suddenly found itself in the middle of a fresh storm, and this time it is about tensions inside the dressing room. All eyes are now on the uneasy equation between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, as rumors of a rift inside the dressing room continue to grow louder.

Tension explodes between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma

The tension first gained attention through social media, where fans began spotting unusual moments between the head coach and senior stars. Clips of Kohli walking past Gautam Gambhir without a handshake after the first ODI against South Africa took social media by storm, confirming the noise that all is not well between the head coach and the senior players.

Add to that a serious post-match exchange between Rohit and Gambhir, and the speculation caught fire instantly. Reports claim that the relationship has slipped into a zone described as “borderline cold,” with a clear communication gap forming between Gambhir and Kohli, and Rohit.

The situation has gotten even more complicated after India’s embarrassing whitewash in the recent two-match Test series against South Africa under Gautam Gambhir’s leadership. The coach has been facing heavy criticism and brutal trolling online that has reportedly caught the attention of the BCCI already.
