BCCI helps Nepal as the team set to train for two weeks at NCA in Bengaluru

Nepal's cricket team has received a huge boost as the team will train for two weeks at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bengaluru. It will be a huge opportunity for the Himalayan nation to use the best cricketing facilities in the world.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah had a big role in leading the way for Nepal cricket and the CAN thanked him for his gesture.

Nepal set to train at NCA in Bengaluru for two weeks

The information was revealed by the CAN through social media who also thanked Jay Shah and the BCCI for this opportunity. CAN also hoped to strengthen cricketing ties with BCCI in the future.

"The Nepal Cricket Team will undergo a two-week training program at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. @CricketNep expresses its gratitude to @JayShah for leading the initiative, and the entire Board of Control for Cricket in India @BCCI for facilitating the tour to the National Cricket Academy. CAN is looking forward to strengthening this partnership to explore future cricket tours and opportunities for us to grow as a cricketing nation," CAN posted on X (formerly Twitter).

The team set to train for the Cricket World Cup League 2

The training program is a big boost for the Himalayan nation which will be preparing for the Cricket World Cup League 2, which will be held in Canada. After the training camp, the squad will fly to Canada for a tri-series involving Oman and the hosts themselves.

Currently, the Rhinos, are at sixth spot in the Cricket World Cup League 2 table with 1 win and 3 defeats in four matches so far. If they finish among the top four of the League 2 table by December 2026, they will ensure their qualification for the Cricket World Cup qualifier.

Jay Shah announced a new NCA in Bengaluru

Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced on August 10 (Saturday) that the new NCA will open in Bengaluru soon which will have world-class cricketing facilities and will help India to develop its future cricketers.

"The new NCA will feature three world-class playing grounds, 45 practice pitches, indoor cricket pitches, Olympic-size swimming pool and state-of-the-art training, recovery and sports science facilities. This initiative will help our nation’s current and future cricketers develop their skills in the best possible environment!" Jay Shah posted on X (formerly Twitter).

India and Nepal have played each other once before. The ODI match was played in the Asia Cup 2023, which India won comfortably in the end. The support for the Nepal cricket team has been huge in most of the matches. Even in the T20 World Cup 2024, Nepalese supporters chanted for their team despite them not performing at their best.
