BCCI Is Considering A Three-Year Contract For 'Professional' Players

The BCCI is considering implementing a completely new structure in which the state organizations sign up “professional” players for three seasons, TOI has learned.

At the second, state items enroll players for one, or two seasons.

“This concept was explored during the BCCI’s apex council meeting on Thursday. It was believed that some associations are dumping “professionals” against their will instead of treating them properly.
We may implement a system starting with the current season that would require them to sign players for a minimum of three seasons, a Board source told this newspaper.

Two annual boosting outings, U-16 one-day trophy for ladies:
“The BCCI will make sure that two trips for “developing teams,” which are essentially the “A” sides, are planned each year for female cricket players. This will help us develop a strong bench for women’s cricket in India, just like it did for men’s cricket” a supply mentioned.

‘New software program to detect age-fraud’: BCCI

When it holds the Vijay Merchant Trophy, the BCCI must test a new “BoneXpert software” to identify age fraud at the under-16 level. According to a Board document (in TOI’s hands), the new software will make age verification of a player quicker and less expensive.

A+ class for umpires:  The BCCI has introduced a completely new umpire grading system. Ten umpires have received an A+ rating, along with KL Ananthapadmanabhan, Anil Chaudhary, Madangopal Jayaraman, Nitin Menon, and Virender Sharma. There are 20 umpires in the A class, 60 in the B class, 46 in the C class, and 11 in the D class.

DRS in all Ranji Trophy video games: For all Ranji Trophy video games, the Board is prepared to utilize the DRS. Additionally, the prize money for domestic tournament winners is prepared to increase, and the Duleep Trophy may once more use the zonal system.
Possible dates for the 2023 Ranji Trophy are December 13–February 28.
