The BCCI has opened the bidding process for the Indian cricket team’s lead sponsorship rights following Dream11’s withdrawal. Notably, the board issued an Invitation for Expression of Interest, calling on reputed companies to submit applications for securing branding on the national side’s jersey front.
The Indian Parliament recently passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, which prohibits fantasy sports and gambling platforms from operating. As a result, Dream11 has decided to withdraw from its role as the lead jersey sponsor of Team India due to the loss of its main revenue.
BCCI Invites Tender for National Team's Lead Sponsor Rights
The Board of Control for Cricket in India opened an Invitation for Expression of Interest for acquiring the National Team Lead Sponsor Rights. The IEOI document will be made available upon payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 5,00,000 (Rupees Five Lakh Only) plus applicable GST.
"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (“BCCI”) invites bids from reputed entities for acquiring the National Team Lead Sponsor Rights," the statement read.
"Accordingly, the BCCI is issuing an Invitation for Expression of Interest for National Team Lead Sponsor Rights (“IEOI”), which provides the detailed terms and conditions governing the submission and evaluation of bids."
"The IEOI will be made available on receipt of payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 5,00,000 (Indian Rupees Five Lakh Only) plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax."
Dream11 Joined the BCCI in 2023 on a Three-Year Sponsorship Deal
Dream11 had joined the BCCI in 2023 on a three-year deal worth ₹358 crore, becoming the lead jersey sponsor for all Indian cricket teams, including senior, junior, men’s, and women’s sides.
Together, My11Circle and Dream11 contributed nearly ₹1,000 crore to the BCCI through sponsorship of the Indian cricket team and the IPL. Dream11’s branding had been printed on jerseys for the 2025 Asia Cup but was removed following the contract termination.
The IEOI will be available upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ₹5,00,000 plus GST. The last date to purchase the IEOI is 12 September 2025, and the last date to submit bid documents is 16 September 2025. As a result, the Indian cricket team will play without a jersey sponsor in the Asia Cup. Notably, the board has banned crypto and online money gaming firms from applying for the sponsorship bids.
Team India to Kick Off Asia Cup 2025 Campaign on September 10
India will kick off their Asia Cup 2025 campaign against the UAE at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 10. The Suryakumar Yadav-led team will face archrivals Pakistan at the same venue on September 14 and conclude the group stage against Oman on September 19.
Team India announced their 15-member squad on August 19, with Suryakumar Yadav named captain and Shubman Gill as his deputy. Shreyas Iyer was a notable omission despite an outstanding IPL season as both a batter and captain.
The Men in Blue are the defending champions, having won the 50-over Asia Cup in 2023. Notably, this year’s tournament will be played in the T20 format in preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
