Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Roger Binny and Vice President Rajeev Shukla have crossed the Attari-Wagah Border to visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. The BCCI administrators are expected to watch the match live at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will face off against each other in Lahore on Tuesday, September 5. The hosts, Pakistan, will play their Super Four match at the same venue on Wednesday, September 6. Shukla and Binny will attend the two matches of the continental tournament.
Will Adhere To The Guidance Of The Government – Rajeev Shukla
Rajeev Shukla spoke to media personnel at the Punjab airport in Amritsar, noting that the visit is purely from the point of view of cricket.
“This two-day visit is purely from the point of view of cricket, nothing political. A dinner has been hosted, and three formidable teams – Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh – will be participating,” Shukla said.
“We will adhere to the guidance of the government. Whatever decision the government makes, we will abide by it,” he added.

Team India Lat Visited Pakistan In 2008
Pakistan is currently hosting the continental tournament for the first time in the last 15 years. The six-team tournament will be played in a hybrid model, with the four matches to be played in Pakistan and the remaining games to be held in Sri Lanka, including the final match.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) last hosted the Asia Cup in 2008, where the Men in Blue emerged as the title winners. The tournament marks the Indian National Cricket Team’s last visit to the neighbouring country, as the bilateral series almost ended after the 26/11 attacks.
