Injury blows continued to hamper Team India on the third day of the ongoing Pink Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant’s getting added to the longstanding list.

Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten 37-ball 28- an innings which included five boundaries- but in the process of doing so, he suffered an injury blow after he was struck on his left thumb by a Mitchell Starc bumper.

As a result, Jadeja did not take the field in Australia’s second innings and the BCCI has now confirmed that all-rounder has now been taken to the hospital for further scans.

“UPDATE – Ravindra Jadeja suffered a blow to his left thumb while batting. He has been taken for scans/#AUSvIND,” wrote the BCCI on Twitter.

Apart from Ravindra Jadeja, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant also did not take the field on the third afternoon after he suffered a blow on his left thumb via a Josh Hazlewood bouncer while he was batting.

He too has also been rushed to the hospital for scans.

The injuries just summed up what proved to be a disastrous day for Team India as they failed to force the issue in their first innings, handing Australia a 98-run lead after they were bowled out for a mere 244 runs.

As a result, Australia have taken complete control of the Test match and at the time of writing, they had stretched their lead fo 190 with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne in the midst of another substantial stand.
