RCB batter Tim David was pumped up after his team successfully eliminated the Mumbai Indians at Raipur. However, his overexcitement led him to commit an offensive act, which has now led to a massive penalty.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated the Mumbai Indians, registering a win in their first-ever match at a second home venue in Raipur. With this win they have taken a massive leap and are now at the top of the points table with seven wins after eleven games.

The defending champions from the previous season of the competition have thrived through the tough matches, thus making them one of the toughest teams in contention for the title in their second consecutive season.

Tim David gets reprimanded with penalty after offensive act against MI

The Royal Challengers might have registered their second victory against the Mumbai Indians this season; however, the match remained one of the most tightly fought contests of this edition of the IPL. Mumbai, despite having posted a low target, was leaving no stone unturned to defend it.

After a thrilling final-over finish, where RCB at one stage needed 16 runs, the dugout was on its feet as soon as the winning run was completed. Tim David in that dugout was mad with joy, and in the heat of the moment, he busted out with an offensive gesture to celebrate the win.

He has been fined 30% of his match fees and has also been handed two demerit points after being booked under the breach of Article 2.6 of the IPL's Code of Conduct.

RCB head coach was also sanctioned over breach of Code of Conduct

On the other hand, while tensions built around the RCB innings, head coach Andy Flower was also spotted in an agitated state. He, during an argument with the fourth umpire along the sidelines of the game, reportedly breached the rule that restricts use of audible obscenity.

The head coach later admitted to the offense and hence was fined 15% of his applicable match fees while he was also reprimanded for having breached Level 1 of the IPL's Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials.

No ball, wicket, six, and a mis-field: A glimpse of that dramatic last over between RCB and MI

The RCB vs MI clash at their new home ground ended in a nail-bitting thriller. The Mumbai Indians managed to defend a low target in front of the power-packed RCB lineup until the 19th over, as Jasprit Bumrah bowled a spectacular 19th over, giving away just three runs.

Raj Angad Bawa, the youngster bowling for the first time in this IPL, was handed the final over. He started off with a wide and then a no-ball. The tensions flared high, but he restricted Romario Shepherd to a single off the free hit.

Bawa dismissed Shepherd on the very next ball, with RCB still needing 9 runs off three balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the magician with the ball, now had something to prove with the bat as well. The veteran played an extraordinary lofted cover drive for a massive six over the cover region.

Despite all the drama, RCB could have lost the match had Bawa caught the ball that came back to him off Rasikh Salam's bat. He misfielded, and the batters ran a double. What a moment of an absolute nail-biting finish to a game! Emotions ran high as the RCB players pumped up in joy entered the field to embrace the young man.
