BCCI shortlists eight cities for India-New Zealand white-ball series

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shortlisted eight cities to host the upcoming white-ball series between India and New Zealand, set to take place in early 2026. Jaipur, Mohali, Indore, Rajkot, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Nagpur are in consideration for the upcoming series.

India are set to host New Zealand in a white-ball series tentatively scheduled for January 2026. The tour will comprise three ODIs and five T20Is during a busy home season. This series will also serve as crucial preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka in February and March.

The final schedule for India’s upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand will be finalized during the BCCI Apex Council meeting on Saturday, according to a report by Cricbuzz.

Apart from the itinerary, the council will also discuss and approve new age-verification measures, outline the domestic cricket calendar for the upcoming season, and finalize guidelines for IPL title celebrations by franchises.

"The itinerary for the New Zealand series will be finalized by the Apex Council of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday evening. The meeting is slated to be held online at 4 pm when the BCCI will also finalise guidelines for IPL victory celebrations for the franchises, new age-verification procedure and domestic cricket calendar for the upcoming season," the report read.

India Have a Packed International Calendar Later This Year

India have a packed international calendar later this year. They will play two home Test series along with an overseas white-ball tour.

India will begin with two Tests against the West Indies in October, scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad and New Delhi.

The Men in Blue will then travel to Australia for an away white-ball series from October 19 to November 8, featuring three ODIs and five T20Is.

After returning from Australia, India will host South Africa for a full series. The Proteas will play two Tests in Kolkata and Guwahati, three ODIs in Ranchi, Raipur, and Visakhapatnam, and four T20Is in Cuttack, New Chandigarh, Dharamsala, and Lucknow during November and December.

India Currently in England for the Five-Match Test Series

India are currently touring England for a five-match Test series set to begin on June 20. The team has already arrived and started training for the high-profile series.

As part of their preparations, the Indian senior side will play a warm-up match against India A starting Friday, June 13. However, the fixture will be held behind closed doors and will not be broadcast, reportedly at the request of head coach Gautam Gambhir.

The first Test match between India and England will be played at Headingley (June 20–24). As per the schedule, the remaining matches will be held at Edgbaston (July 2–6), Lord’s (July 10–14), Old Trafford (July 23–27), and The Oval (July 31–August 4).
