Beth Mooney leads brutal assault in final ODI against India
From field placements to bowling plans and poor fielding, everything went against the Indian side as the Australian team racked up a total of 60 fours and 5 sixes in just 287 balls—almost a boundary every four deliveries in the ongoing final ODI in Delhi.
Georgia Voll (81 runs off 68 balls) and Ellyse Perry (68 runs off 72 balls) gave Australia a blazing start, with Beth Mooney continuing her assault throughout her innings. Mooney attacked from ball one and scored a record-breaking 75-ball 138 to take Australia to 412 runs on the board.
Beth Mooney’s second-fastest century powers Australia to record ODI total
She helped Australia set their record ODI total against India. Her knock featured 23 boundaries and one six against India Women. Mooney’s sensational 138 was the second-highest individual score by a woman cricketer against India after Claire Taylor’s unbeaten 156 at Lord’s in 2006.
Mooney smashed 24 boundaries (23 fours and a six), making it the second-highest boundary haul for Australia in ODIs, just behind Alyssa Healy’s 26 fours during her 170 in the 2022 World Cup final against England. Her century was also the joint second-fastest in women’s ODI history, reaching 100 in 57 balls, equalling Karen Rolton’s effort against South Africa in 2000.
Meg Lanning still holds the record for the fastest century in just 45 balls against New Zealand in 2012. Australia’s innings was a boundary bonanza, hitting 60 fours, which is the second-most in a Women’s ODI innings after New Zealand’s 64 during their record 491/4 in Dublin in 2018.
Australia smashes 400+ in Women’s ODI for 2nd time
This was Australia’s second-ever 400-plus total in women’s ODIs, making them only the second team to cross 400 multiple times, while New Zealand achieved it four times.
Their total also ranks as Australia’s joint-highest in women’s ODIs, the highest against India, and the sixth-highest overall in women’s ODIs.

With 65 boundaries (both sixes and fours) in the innings, Australia recorded the second-most boundaries in a women’s ODI, just behind New Zealand’s 71 against Ireland in 2018.
India Women struggle early as Pratika Rawal and Harleen Deol fall cheaply
On the other hand, India Women had a tough start as the opening batter Pratika Rawal was dismissed for just 10 runs, and then Harleen Deol lost her wicket for just 11 runs after facing 14 balls. However, Smriti Mandhana is looking solid with 61* off 31 balls, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur is playing the anchor’s role as they are still more than 300 runs away from the target.
The hosts now have 8 wickets and 38 overs to pull off a shocker against Australia in Delhi.
