Arjun Tendulkar is all set to try his luck in the upcoming players’ auction for the upcoming Mumbai T20 League. Despite representing Goa in domestic cricket, the seam bowling all-rounder is eligible to enter the auction pool.

Currently, Arjun Tendulkar is with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the ongoing IPL 2026 season. He joined the franchise ahead of the IPL 2026 season. Because of a lack of game times during his spell with the Mumbai Indians (MI), Arjun Tendulkar shifted his IPL base to Lucknow.

The 26-year-old bowler-batter is originally from Mumbai, but to get regular opportunities, he has been representing Goa in the domestic tournament. For the betterment of his professional cricket career, the son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar left the Mumbai Indians as well. Though he has yet to play his first match for the Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing season.

Arjun Tendulkar will carry the highest price tag in the auction

According to a Times of India report, being a Ranji Trophy player, Arjun will enter the Mumbai T20 League’s auction with the highest base price of INR 5 lakh. The players’ auction is scheduled to be held on May 2.

As per the Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA) mandates, a player, who is originally from Mumbai, but represented a different organization, is required an one year cooling off period before submitting his name in the franchise league auction. But in Arjun’s case, the rule will not be applicable as he did not take part in their respective states’ T20 leagues.

Why will the BCCI rule not apply to Arjun Tendulkar?

“To maintain focus and prevent excessive exertion, each player is permitted to participate in only one officially recognised cricket league, excluding the Indian Premier League (IPL), during 12 months commencing from the conclusion of the tournament in which they last participated,” according to the BCCI guideline.

“Since they did not participate in the T20 league organised by the association of their respective teams, as per the BCCI rules, they are eligible to participate in the T20 Mumbai League,” MCA secretary Unmesh Khanvilkar told the media house on Wednesday.

Along with Arjun Tendulkar, another Mumbai-born, Siddharth Adhatrao, who played for Pondicherry in domestic cricket in the recent past, has also been granted permission to become a part of the Mumbai T20 League’s upcoming auction.

The MCA secretary further informed that Siddharth is switching back to Mumbai. “I just want to enjoy Mumbai cricket, be it First-Class, T20 Mumbai, or maidan cricket,” Siddharth Adhatrao said.

Multiple stars are set to feature in the T20 league

It is officially announced that the fourth season of the regional franchise league is set for a blockbuster return with the auction scheduled for May 2, 2026.

Featuring top stars like Suryakumar Yadav (Triumph Knights), Shreyas Iyer (SoBo Mumbai Falcons), Shivam Dube (ARCS Andheri), Yashasvi Jaiswal (Bandra Blasters), and Sarfaraz Khan (Aakash Tigers). In the previous season, Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals claimed the crown, defeating Shreyas Iyer-led Mumbai Falcons at the Wankhede Stadium.
