Bangladesh National Cricket Team are confident that senior player Mahmudullah will be available for the rest of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The team management mentioned that the all-rounder is recovering well, and the final decision on his availability will be taken after his last practice session.

With the match around the corner, the Bangladesh National Cricket Team manager provided a fitness update about Mahmudullah. He said that they are hopeful of the senior player being available, but a final call will be taken on how he goes in the final practice session. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he said:
"We are hopeful regarding his (Mahmudullah) availability (for the remaining part of the tournament). He is recovering well but a final decision in this regard can only be taken after the last practice session ahead of our game against New Zealand in Rawalpindi."

The Bangladesh Team manager also mentioned that Mahmudullah's scan didn't show any tear and it was a positive sign for him. While elaborating on the same, he explained:
"We had a scan after he sustained the injury and there was no tear found. It's a good sign, and whenever he feels comfortable, he will be ok to play, I guess, as there is no tear."
Mahmudullah, who scored four fifties in his last four ODIs, is expected to walk directly into the XI. He was expected to replace one of Jaker Ali or Towhid Hridoy in the XI, but with both the players scoring runs in the first game, it is now expected that he will replace someone from the top three or Mushfiqur Rahim in the match against New Zealand.
