Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg has named Team India’s Hardik Pandya the world’s most valuable T20 player. Pandya made a spectacular comeback to international cricket in the South Africa series after captaining Gujarat Titans (GT) to IPL glory in the 15th season.
After the T20 World Cup in 2021, Pandya decided to take a break from playing international cricket, but he made a compelling case for himself in his return series against the Proteas. Along with Pandya, seasoned Indian batsman Dinesh Karthik completed an amazing comeback to the Indian team during the South Africa series.
Hogg added that Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand and Pandya of India are the two players who’ve already truly surprised him over the past month in a video that was posted by the former Australian cricketer on his YouTube account. “He aspires to go out there and perform, whether it be with a bat or a ball, in those trying times when his team is up against it.”
“He can adjust; the other night, when he entered those final overs, he was able to score from the first ball. Few people possess such ability. If they too lose early wickets, he can go up and perform well at the top of the order “said Hogg.
‘Hardik Pandya is the most valuable T20 cricketer’: Brad Hogg
When asked about the Indian all-meteoric rounder’s rise, Australia’s Hogg dubbed Pandya the world’s most valuable T20 cricketer. “He is the most valuable T20 cricketer in the world at the moment. Hardik Pandya should be captain of this T20 team in front of Rahul,” Hogg added.
On Sunday, Team India will face hosts Ireland at Dublin’s The Village. On Tuesday, the visitors will play the series finale at the same venue.
