The 58th game of the ongoing IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals has been called off. The PBKS vs DC match was taking place on Thursday (May 8) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
It was the 11th over of the PBKS innings when one of the floodlights went off. A few minutes later, two more floodlights went off. At first, it looked like the game would resume soon once the problem with the floodlights was sorted.
However, the fans were asked to vacate the stadium immediately due to security reasons. While the IPL has not issued an official statement yet, reports state that the match has been called off. The development came soon after reports emerged that Pakistani drones and missiles were witnessed in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir as well as nearby states.

PBKS vs DC: Match so far
Before the game was called off, PBKS were in a strong position with the bat. After rain delayed the start of the match, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first. Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya gave PBKS a flying start.
They added 122 runs for the first wicket in 10 overs before T Natarajan dismissed Arya to give DC the much-needed first breakthrough. Arya departed after scoring 70 runs off 34 balls. His knock was studded with 5 fours and 6 sixes. On the other hand, Prabhsimran was unbeaten on 50 off 28 balls. With the game called off, both PBKS and DC are likely to get one point each.
