Brian Lara reacts to Vaibhav Suryavanshi's historical 100

Legendary Brian Lara has hailed Vaibhav Suryavanshi after the youngster's historic knock for the Rajasthan Royals against the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025.
The highly-rated teenager created history by smashing a 35-ball hundred. He not only became the youngest player to hit a century in the men's T20s but also scored the fastest IPL century by an Indian player. Only Chris Gayle has scored a faster century in the IPL than Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Suryavanshi storm hits Gujarat Titans
His stunning knock was studded with seven fours and 11 sixes. He eventually scored 101 runs off 38 balls before being clean bowled by Prasidh Krishna. Before departing, he also shared a mammoth 166-run stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first wicket as Rajasthan Royals thrashed Gujarat Titans by eight wickets to return to winning ways.
Batting first, Gujarat Titans posted a big total of 209/4 thanks to their captain Shubman Gill's 84-run knock and the half-century from Jos Buttler. The Royals had their back against the wall before the prodigal youngster played one of the best IPL knocks of all time to power them to a much-needed win.
Brian Lara on Vaibhav Suryavanshi's century:
The cricketing world has been busy heaping praise on Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his knock, and Brian Lara has joined the bandwagon as well. Soon after the Rajasthan Royals opener completed his century, the former West Indies captain took to Instagram to laud the innings.
He shared a clip of himself watching the innings on TV and wrote his iconic words, posting, "Did I entertain? You surely entertained me!!!"
For those who don't know, Brian Lara had famously used the 'Did I entertain?' phrase after his ODI retirement during the 2007 World Cup.

Rajasthan Royals' playoff chances still alive
Meanwhile, the win has kept Rajasthan Royals' slim chances of qualifying for the playoffs alive. They are currently at the ninth spot in the points table with 3 wins from 9 games.
They will be eager to make the most of the winning momentum and win their remaining league games to stay in contention for the playoffs.
