The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to extend the jersey sponsorship of the Indian team with Bangalore-based multinational educational tech company, BYJU’S.

The deal between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and BYJU’S was set to be expired after the Sri Lanka tour of India 2022, which consisted of three-match T20I series and two-match Test series.

However, the agreement has been renewed for another year, as reported by Cricbuzz.

“The agreement has been renewed for another year. It would have ended after the current series,” multiple BCCI members, who are conversant with the recent Apex Council meeting decisions, told Cricbuzz.

BYJU’S replaced Oppo as the Indian team’s jersey sponsor in September 2019. BYJU’S has been paying BCCI INR 4.61 crore for a bilateral game and Rs 1.56 for an international game.

“BYJU’S will be taking over all obligations of the current team sponsor OPPO mobiles India private limited. The BCCI is pleased to welcome India’s leading education and learning app BYJU’S as the official Team India sponsor from 5th September 2019 until 31st March 2022,” the BCCI had said in a statement in May 2019.
