A huge moment for the Kolkata Knight Riders, and for their emerging pacer Saurabh Dubey, as he dismissed Rohit Sharma in the KKR vs Mumbai Indians match for the match number 65 of the ongoing IPL 2026 season.
Tonight, KKR has walked into the Eden Gardens for another must-win match against the Mumbai Indians (MI). Winning the toss, the KKR skipper, Ajinkya Rahane, decided to bowl first. Currently, the bowlers are proving the skipper’s call accurate.
Saurabh Dubey caught Rohit Sharma off guard
Saurabh Dubey has just dismissed the dangerous MI opener Rohit in his second over of the match. Cameroon Green takes a well-judged catch. The pacer, who has been playing his first-ever IPL season, raised his arm in delight after securing the wicket of Rohit Sharma. MI lost their 3rd wicket inside the powerplay. Ryan Rickelton, Rohit Sharma, and Naman Dhir have lost their scalps in front of KKR’s pace attack.

Mumbai Indians in deep trouble vs KKR
Dubey brilliantly took all the pace off the ball and put it on the off. Rohit aimed to guide the ball over the fielder's head for a boundary. He swung the bat across the line, but the ball traveled in a different direction after making the connection.
It's a long way up behind mid-wicket. Cameeron Green ran a long way to take the catch. He started his run from the mid on, and took the ball in the mid-wicket cordon. Rovman Powell also went behind the ball. But it was Green who grabbed the ball in the end, with a safe pair of hands.
It was MI’s third wicket tonight. They are no deep trouble as some of their top guns were already back in the pavilion. KKR bowlers are in song.
It is a must-win match for them, and they are well aware of the importance of the two points from tonight’s match to keep themselves in the race for the play-offs. In the power play, the Mumbai Indians scored only 46 runs in exchange for 4 wickets. Saurabh Dubey took Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket as well.
Fans react after Rohit's poor innings

Rohit knew that he is getting exposed under pressure after early wickets, because he knows he can't handle this kind of pressure like Kohli.

Instead of leading his team from the front, he played a careless shot and threw away his wicket.

something is seriously wrong with MI. I mean look at the constant tinkering in the batting order and then getting out to Cam Green! Come on guys!!! I think this mess stems from how we messed up Indian captaincy post Rohit Sharma! It will haunt teamIndiatoo. somehow we won trophies
