Cheteshwar Pujara Named In Saurashtra Squad For Irani Cup, Jaydev Unadkat Named Captain

Irani Cup is considered one of the prestigious tournaments in Indian Cricket. BCCI has done a great job in making sure that all tournaments are getting conducted. We all know that domestic cricket is the key to success for any national team.

India has a huge pool of players and for them, such kinds of tournaments are the only hope to get noticed. Indian Cricket Team recently lost 5th Test match against England which raised a lot of eyebrows and questioned the team’s dynamics and process as defending 377 runs is not a tough task.

Cheteshwar Pujara in Saurashtra Team

India’s star batter Cheteshwar Pujara would be overjoyed after being named into the squad. He has been making runs in England’s Domestic Circuit and making sure that he utilizes time as he is a Test Specialist batter. The right-handed batter had made headlines in the recent Royal London Cup by decimating the opponent.

Pujara has shown to the World Cricket that he can be aggressive too. Pujara is someone who takes time before playing shots and that has been quite productive for him. The right-handed batter would be keen to help Saurashtra beat the Rest of India as attaining that feat would be great for him as well as the team.

Jaydev Unadkat named Captain of Saurashtra

Saurashtra has named Jaydev Unadkat as their skipper. The left arm pacer in a recent interview has said that he can still make it into India’s team. Not many know that he played his maiden Test Match in 2010 against South Africa and was considered to be an exciting prospect for the team.

The left arm pacer was a part of MI for the 2022 IPL edition where he wasn’t that effective. MI’s management had given him responsibility in death overs where he was unable to execute proper Yorkers for the Team. He would be carrying the expectations of Saurashtra in the Irani Cup and would hope that they can outclass the Rest of India.
