Former South African cricketer Chris Morris has revealed his all-time T20 XI, featuring five Indian players who played key roles in Team India's recent ICC T20 World Cup 2024 triumph on June 29 at Kensington in Barbados. Surprisingly, Morris has not picked a specialist spinner in his all-time T20 XI.

At the top of the batting order, Morris picked Rohit Sharma and Chris Gayle as his openers for his all-time T20 XI. Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, played a key role in India's T20 World Cup 2024 win, both through his leadership and his explosive batting, scoring over 250 runs in the mega event.

Chris Gayle, the West Indies batter who is known as one of the most dangerous batters in T20 cricket, was an obvious choice for Morris for his consistent and match-winning performances with the bat as an opener over the years across the world.

Team India’s batting megastar Virat Kohli, who recently announced his retirement from T20I cricket after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 along with Rohit, was Morris's pick for the number three spot in his all-time XI in T20I cricket.

Kohli has been instrumental in many of India's memorable wins in the format, delivering stellar performances and anchoring the innings with his classy batting. For the middle order, Morris selected legendary South African batter AB de Villiers and West Indies’ hard-hitting batting all-rounder Kieron Pollard at numbers four and five, respectively, in his all-time T20 XI.

Both players are celebrated for their extraordinary batting skills and have been crucial in many successful chases and high-pressure situations for their teams. Meanwhile, the former South African pacer has named legendary MS Dhoni as the captain and wicketkeeper of his dream team. Dhoni, with his exceptional leadership and finishing abilities, is considered the most successful captain in the world, leading Team India to all ICC titles.

In the all-rounder category, Morris named Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya and West Indies’ spin all-rounder Sunil Narine. Pandya, who recently played a key role in India's T20 World Cup 2024 win, is an X-factor for the Men in Blue in white-ball cricket and earned the seventh spot in Morris’ team.

On the other hand, Narine, who played a key role in Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL 2024 triumph, has been a game-changer with his versatile performances with both bat and ball, and he will provide great stability to Morris’ team. In his pace bowling attack, Morris selected Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah, Sri Lankan pace legend Lasith Malinga, and Australasia's Brett Lee.

Bumrah's precision and ability to deliver in crunch moments have made him a key player in the Indian bowling attack. On the other hand, Malinga, with his unorthodox style and death-bowling expertise, and Lee, with his raw pace and aggression, have both left indelible marks on T20 cricket and perfectly completed the Morris team.

Here's Chris Morris’ all-time T20 XI:

Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Kieron Pollard, MS Dhoni (C), Hardik Pandya, Sunil Narine, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, and Brett Lee.
