"Clueless and pathetic coach Gautam Gambhir": Twitter reacts to Arshdeep Singh’s snub in Asia Cup 2025 final

Despite Hardik Pandya being ruled out due to injury, Indian coach Gautam Gambhir has not considered Arshdeep Singh to be picked in the Playing XI for the Asia Cup final alongside Jasprit Bumrah. India have featured Shivam Dube as their second paceman.
India are taking on Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final. After a huge gap of 8 years, the two teams are facing each other in a knockout game. They last played in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy final, and this is the first time that these two Asian giants are starring in an Asia Cup final together.
No Arshdeep Singh; Jasprit Bumrah features as the lone frontline pacer
Indian coach Gautam Gambhir is largely known for his antics, which often leave people amazed by his decisions. He has, since his appointment, ignored India's most successful T20I bowler, Arshdeep Singh.
Singh, who has not been regular on the Indian side recently, featured in the last game against Sri Lanka and bowled a stupendous 19th over, followed by a spectacular super-over that won the match for India.
However, despite his strong performance in the last game, Arshdeep Singh has once again missed a spot in the XI for the Asia Cup final. India is down on one pacer since Hardik Pandya has been ruled out. Jasprit Bumrah stars as the only pacer in the Indian side.
Hardik Pandya misses the crucial final due to injury; Rinku Singh replaces the veteran all-rounder
On the other hand, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has missed the final due to his left hamstring and walked off the field after he bowled the first over in India's previous Asia Cup 2025.
Rinku Singh, the Indian finisher, has missed the games for the entire Asia Cup; however, he replaces Hardik Pandya in the side. Rinku might be adding the muscle power needed on the Indian side.
Shivam Dube, the other all-rounder, has instead been handed the new-ball, and fans have unleashed their outburst on Gambhir for another strange call from the Champions Trophy-winning coach.
"Feel for Arshdeep Singh....This breaks every Indian fan’s heart" - Fans disheartened by pacer being left out of Asia Cup final
Meet this clueless and pathetic coach Gautam Gambhir 🤡

- Hardik Pandya is injured no second pacer
- Anyone would have played Arshdeep
- This guy preferred Rinku as an extra batter
- We now have only 5 bowlers ( With Shivam Dube as a part timer) pic.twitter.com/wN9ME6bFS4
Feel for Arshdeep Singh 😭 — he single-handedly won India the match vs Sri Lanka with magical Super Over & 19th over bowling…

And now he’s not even playing in the IND vs PAK Asia Cup Final on a flat wicket 💔
This breaks every Indian fan’s heart 💔🇮🇳 #indvspak2025 pic.twitter.com/t1KMnm2lc9
Strange that Arshdeep Singh is not playing in the absence of Hardik - strange team selection. We are going for batting depth with Rinku getting a chance. I hope it doesn't change anything for us. 🤞

Gautam Gambhir's Idiotic Decision to Bench Arshdeep Singh...
— Ankur Kashyap (@ankurs000) September 28, 2025
Arshdeep is India's top T20 pacer. He was India's leading wicket-taker. He's destroyed Pakistan before, like in the 2022 Asia Cup.
-No excuse to drop him, especially with Hardik out. Hardik Pandya is injured and… pic.twitter.com/YfwA0ON53t
India want to strengthen their batting and that’s why they have decided to go with Rinku Singh as Hardik Pandya’s replacement.

Many would argue that Arshdeep Singh should have been picked but it’s clear that
Gambhir and Surya want batting depth.
