Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Moshin Naqvi is unhappy with some of the senior officials of the board with the way they handled the team in the T20 World Cup 2024. As per the reports in PTI, it is learned that the head of the board is likely to instill some strict policies going ahead.

Pakistan Cricket Team had a torrid run in the T20 World Cup 2024. They failed to live up to the expectations as they displayed extremely poor performances throughout and got eliminated from the tournament in the league stage as well, losing to the United States of America and India.

After that things haven't been right for the Pakistan team at all. There have been a lot of happenings in the team. The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board is unhappy with the indiscipline prevailing in the team. This comes after Haris Rauf was involved in a fight with a fan after the team got eliminated.

Apart from this, Pakistan Cricket Team players taking along their family members for the ICC tournament have also come under scanner. The board as per the reports is likely to introduce a policy on players not being allowed to have their families in ICC and other major events.

A source close to PCB claimed that the Chairman of the board will be enforcing policies for the players as he was unhappy with the players taking their family members along. Speaking to PTI, he explained:

"You can expect the PCB to lose senior management level officials and also enforce some strict policies for the players in future. The fact that so many players not only took their wives and children to the World Cup but even had their parents, brothers etc staying in the team hotel has left the chairman unhappy,"

Some of these officials are not professionals - PCB Chairman furious

The reports also claimed that Chairman Mohsin Naqvi made inquiries about who allowed players of the team to take their families along, it concluded that some of the officials, who are fans of the players, did that. The source explained:

"Some of these officials are not professionals but fans of the players and have given them a lot of concessions which eventually led to the World Cup debacle."

The source also added that Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also has asked for a performance assessment report from all senior management-level officials. The head of the governing body is reportedly unhappy with the progress of work for the ICC Champions Trophy.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be taking place in Pakistan in February next year. With the tournament set to take place at home, it will be a massive opportunity for the Babar Azam-led side to silence all their critics and show their prowess to the world. It remains to be seen what will be the roadmap for the team going ahead into the tournament at home.
