One of India’s newest batting sensations, Suryakumar Yadav, left for England on Tuesday to join India’s Test squad. The BCCI selected Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw as injury replacements for Shubman Gill and Washington Sundar for the five-Test series against England. The 31-year old posted a photo on Twitter of him boarding the flight to the United Kingdom.
Suryakumar Yadav has been in tremendous form of late, having translated his vast experience of domestic cricket to the international arena. The right-handed batsman has seized every opportunity coming his way and made it count. Yadav debuted in international cricket earlier this year and won the player of the series in his first ODI series in Sri Lanka.

Nevertheless, it remains uncertain when Yadav would be available for selection or make his Test debut. According to the current status, the right-handed batsman might not be in contention before the third Test. But Yadav has a compelling record in first-class cricket, scoring 5326 runs in 77 first-class games at 44.01, with 14 tons. He took to his Twitter handle and posted the caption “Counting my blessings. Next stop, England,”
Below is Suryakumar Yadav’s post on Twitter:
Counting my blessings ?

There was no official confirmation on Prithvi Shaw’s departure as both were scheduled to leave for England today. Prithvi Shaw, an attacking opening batsman, has so far featured in five Tests, managing 339 runs at 42.37, having made a ton on debut. But he has not played the format since the first Test against Australia last year in Adelaide.
