Meanwhile, India’s chase of 172 started with fireworks as Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma tore into Pakistan’s bowling attack. The two young openers smashed a 100-run stand in just 8.4 overs, putting India in complete control right from the beginning.

Gill looked strong but fell just short of his fifty, dismissed for 47 off 29 balls by Faheem Ashraf. But Abhishek continued the charge and seemed on course for his third T20I century, but his innings ended in the 13th over by the Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed.

Then, India faced a mini collapse when the skipper Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed without scoring and Sanju Samson managed only 13 off 17. But Tilak Varma showed great composure in the closing stages, playing an unbeaten knock of 30 runs off 19 balls to take India home.

They wrapped up the chase in 18.4 overs, thrashing the Men in Blue by six wickets in the Super Four clash in Dubai.

Iceland Cricket’s hilarious swipe at Pakistan over Abhishek Sharma’s fireworks goes viral

After India’s dominating victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four, Iceland Cricket lit up social media with a hilarious take on Abhishek Sharma’s explosive batting in Dubai.

Abhishek’s blitz was so brutal that Iceland Cricket compared his bat-swinging to something far more dangerous than just cricket shots. Additionally, the Iceland cricket team also jokingly said that any batter who dares to strike at a strike rate of over 200 should face punishment under an ICC Level 3 offense.

Iceland Cricket posted, X: “There's no place for violence in cricket, and that includes the bat-wielding exploits of Abhishek Sharma right now! In fact, any batter with an SR of over 200 should receive an ICC Level 3 offense!”
