Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have made a big move ahead of the IPL 2027 auction by completing a four-player trade on Thursday (November 5). Both franchises have exchanged two players each, making fresh changes to their squads before the next season.

England all-rounder Liam Livingstone and Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards will now represent Chennai Super Kings, while the Indian left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed and Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis have moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards join CSK ahead of IPL 2027

Liam Livingstone has joined Chennai Super Kings for INR 6 crore. Interestingly, the England all-rounder was originally bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 13 crore. This means CSK has secured the England all-rounder at more than half of his original price.

Livingstone is known for his powerful batting and handy spin bowling, making him an important addition to the CSK squad. Along with Livingstone, Australian seam-bowling all-rounder Jack Edwards has also joined the five-time IPL champions.

He has joined the CSK at his existing price of INR 3 crore. SRH had signed Edwards before he made his Australia debut, but the youngster could not play in IPL 2026 after suffering a foot injury. His arrival gives the franchise another all-round option who can contribute with both bat and ball.

Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis move to SRH

In exchange, Sunrisers Hyderabad have added two experienced fast bowlers to their squad. The left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed has joined SRH at his existing fee of INR 4.8 crore. Khaleel is returning to the SRH franchise after previously playing for them between 2018 and 2021.

The left-arm pacer had an impressive IPL 2025 season with CSK, picking up 15 wickets in 14 matches. However, he managed to play only five matches in IPL 2026 before a right quadriceps injury ruled him out of the tournament.

Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis has also moved to SRH at his existing price of INR 2 crore. He is known for his clever bowling variations and ability to control runs during the death overs. Ellis brings valuable T20 experience and will add more strength to SRH's pace attack.
