Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Virat Kohli opened up about the contest he enjoys the most in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The star batter revealed that he finds Royal Challengers Bengaluru's home games against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to be the most intense in the T20 tournament.
Virat has scored 164 runs in four matches during the 2025 IPL season. The batter has smashed two half-centuries with an impressive average of 54.66 and a strike rate of 143.85. He has been instrumental in Royal Challengers Bengaluru securing victories in three of their first four games in the ongoing season.
In Their Stadium, There Are All CSK Fans - Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli shared that while Bengaluru has a mixed crowd, CSK fans show up in big numbers at Chepauk. The right-handed batter said that the sea of yellow at CSK fixtures creates a tense and high-pressure atmosphere.
"I think I've felt the most intense games playing CSK in Bangalore. Because there, of course, there are Chennai fans," Kohli said.
"Then there is tension. Because there, in their stadium, there are all CSK fans. Here, in Bangalore, you know, people are like, come and see. There, it's all like, no bro, it's just yellow, nothing else," he added.
Chennai Super Kings have dominated their home clashes against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the southern derby. However, RCB recently broke that long-standing streak by registering their first win at CSK's home ground since 2008.
Overall, the two teams have faced off 34 times in the IPL, with CSK winning 21 of those matches, RCB winning 12, and one game ending with no result.
