CSK procure India star in trade window

The Delhi Capitals fast bowler Thangarasu Natarajan has been spotted donning a CSK shirt while he sweats hard in a training session at the Super Kings Academy, somewhere across their multiple venues around Tamil Nadu.
The Indian Premier League has always been a superb platform for raw talent to showcase their calibre in front of international stars. Thangarasu Natrajan has been one such player in the IPL over the years, performing solidly for the Sunrisers Hyderabad before a move to the Delhi Capitals.
The Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, have been one of the most well-known sides in the IPL, known to have produced several fine talents before they made their way into the Indian team. Two of the most classic players include Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja.
Thangarasu Natrajan was spotted at the CSK academy
As is known to many, the Chennai Super Kings have opened many cricket academies for their own as well as outside players to cater to their needs. Natarajan, the left-arm quick from Delhi Capitals, was recently spotted in a training session at the CSK academy.
Not only was the pacer seen playing in the academy, but he was also seen donning a CSK shirt. After the picture went viral on social media, several claims of a possible move have surfaced amid the ongoing preseason trade window being active currently.
However, it is to be kept in mind that the 34-year-old Delhi Capitals fast bowler is a native of Tamil Nadu, and the CSK academy might just have been a choice as one of his training grounds as he prepares for the upcoming domestic season.

Why did DC bench Natarajan in IPL 2025?
The Delhi Capitals is a franchise that has rebuilt its core team after having released many of the big names from its squad, which also included former skipper Rishabh Pant. They had a fairly good auction, as they bought the likes of KL Rahul, Mitchell Starc, Faf du Plessis, and Thangarasu Natrajan.
As left-handed pacer Natrajan was cited as a crucial bowler in the Capitals' side, several questions were raised when DC did not make him play a single game throughout the first half of the season.
Answering the queries, DC head coach Hemang Badani had updated that the Tamil Nadu paceman had missed the matches owing to fitness concerns and was not dropped from the team. Natrajan was bought for a huge INR 10.75 Crores, which implied his significance to the DC side.
He was still recovering from an injury and bowled just 18 balls in the entire season, despite the team having high expectations from the southpaw.
Thangarasu Natarajan IPL Stats
Natarajan started playing in the IPL for the Kings XI Punjab in 2017, where he played 6 games and could only pick 2 wickets in the season. Released, he was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2020, three seasons later.
From 2020 to 2024, Natarajan has played in 55 IPL matches for the Oranje Army, as he has also picked 65 wickets for them and emerged as a major threat for the opposition, especially during the death overs. Natarajan is known for his quirky skills on the ball, with yorkers and slower balls under his belt.
Whether Natarajan is on the charts for CSK, this is yet to be confirmed.
