Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is set for their upcoming clash against the Gujarat Titans (GT) today at 3.30 PM at the home ground of CSK, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The match is crucial for both of the sides, as neither of them is performing in a consistent manner in the ongoing IPL 2026 season.

Ahead of the match, CSK is ahead of GT in the points table. In their previous match, they just crushed their arch-rival Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, while GT suffered a defeat against the defending champion Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

IPL 2026: CSK vs GT Preview:

Match number 37 of the IPL 2026 is going to be very vital as there are multiple teams still active in contention for the play-offs. CSK started their campaign on a low note, but as soon as Sanju Samson and a few other players picked up their form, the team’s performance improved. In 7 matches, Chennai Super Kings have bagged 3 wins and 4 defeats. Interestingly, these three wins they have claimed in their previous 5 matches are proof of their rejuvenated form.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and his boys will be charged up against the Gujarat Titans with the home-ground advantage. Sanju Samson, who has already registered a couple of centuries in the season, will look to continue the form today as well. GT bowlers can face major challenges if Samson takes off early in the match. For CSK, their middle-order and the bad patch of their captain Ruturaj Gaikwad have remained concerns.

On the other side, GT’s overall performance was not bad so far. They lost four matches in 7 mostly because of losing grip on crucial junctures in their previous games. The form of Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler is the key asset for the Gujarat Titans.

Talking about the bowlers, CSK pacer Anshul Kamboj has been leading the pace attack in the absence of Khaleel Ahmed, who has been ruled out of the IPL 2026 because of an injury. The spin duo of Noor Ahmed and Akeal Hosein can take a decisive role in the match. For GT, they will have the in-form pacers like Prasidh Krishna and Kagiso Rabada, who can be impactful in important stages of the game. The pitch in Chennai is traditionally known for supporting the spinners. Gujarat Titans will have Rashid Khan on their side.
