As MS Dhoni made his way to the crease for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 34th IPL 2024 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, the atmosphere reached the next level, and the decibel levels surged into the red zone on Friday (April 19).

The Ekana Cricket Stadium pulsated with energy, with the crowd's roar thundering through the stands as Dhoni stepped onto the field to bat for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Fans erupted into a deafening chorus of cheers, creating an electric atmosphere in Lucknow during the LSG vs CSK IPL 2024 encounter.

Quinton De Kock's wife warned of hearing loss during MS Dhoni's entry

Among the spectators was Sasha de Kock, wife of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) opener Quinton de Kock, who captured and shared the thundersome scene on her Instagram story. She shared a snapshot showing her smartwatch displaying a staggering 95 decibels of intense noise levels in the stadium when Dhoni came to bat in the match.

As the crowd in Lucknow went berserk with Dhoni entering the field, Sasha’s Apple smartwatch showed that this level of noise was significant enough to potentially cause temporary hearing loss after just 10 minutes of exposure.

Sasha de Kock’s smartwatch note reads: “Loud environment. Sound levels hit 95 decibels. Just 10 minutes at this level can cause temporary hearing loss.”

Now Sasha’s Instagram post is crazily going viral on social media. This viral post showed the immense impact Dhoni continues to have on fans worldwide. Well, MSD also entertained the Lucknow crowd with another rapid knock against the KL Rahul-led LSG on Friday.

Dhoni came in to bat with CSK at 141/6 and played a stunning cameo against the LSG. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter played a dazzling knock of unbeaten 28 runs off just nine balls, studded with three fours and two sixes to thrill the crowd in Lucknow and power CSK to 176/6 in their 20 overs.

I  would say we were 10-15 runs short: Ruturaj Gaikwad

However, Lucknow chased down the target in the 19th over, as Chennai suffered a massive defeat of eight wickets at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. CSK bowlers failed to deliver on the tricky pitch, with only Matheesha Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman each taking one wicket against the LSG.

After the defeat, CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad stated: “We finished well with the bat, couldn't have asked more with the situation we were in. After powerplay, we couldn't capitalize on the start we got and we kept losing wickets at regular intervals. I would say we were 10-15 runs short. Slightly difficult with such a total, with the impact sub-rule you need 10-15 or even 20 runs extra.”

Gaikawad mentioned that the pitch seemed sluggish to start with, but with dew coming on, it gets better, so 190 would have been a good score to defend against the LSG. The CSK skipper said that they need to take wickets in the powerplay to put pressure on the opposition. CSK and LSG will meet again in their next IPL 2024 match on April 23 at the Chepauk Stadium.
