India has once again named Chennai Super Kings batter Ayush Mhatre as the captain of the Indian U-19 side for the upcoming tour of India U-19 to Australia.
India recently concluded their series against the England U-19 team, where Ayush Mhatre was leading the Men in Blue side that emerged as winners in the Youth One-Day series by a competitive margin of 3-2. The two-match Test series ended in a draw between the two sides.
The Australian tour for the young Indian boys has been scheduled during the September window, with three one-day matches and two multi-day games against the Australian U-19 side.
Ayush Mhatre to lead India U-19 against Australia
The Mumbai batter who turned up for CSK during IPL 2.0, Ayush Mhatre, will be seen leading the Indian Under-19 team in a multi-format tour to the Australian island nation, which is scheduled to be played from the 21st of September.
This series will be played before the onset of India's white-ball tour to Australia in October, which probably marks the return of the two Indian greats, Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma, for the ODI format.
All three of India's one-day games in the series will be played at the same venue, the Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane, which will be followed by two multi-day events, the first one at the Ian Healy Oval and the next at Mackay, concluding on the 10th of October.
Mhatre was India's leading run-getter in the Test series against England U-19, where he scored 340 runs in 4 innings, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi topped the run charts in the ODI series with 355 runs in 5 innings that India won 3-2.
