Dale Steyn Continues to Influence Cricket After Legendary Career

Dale Steyn built his career on pure pace and sharp swing. Batters struggled against him for more than a decade. He ended his Test career as South Africa’s leading wicket-taker with 439 wickets in 93 matches.

In white-ball cricket, he took 196 wickets in ODIs and 64 in T20Is. He also stayed at No. 1 in the ICC Test bowling rankings for a record 263 weeks.

Steyn retired in 2021 but did not step away from the game. He became the bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL and worked closely with young players like Umran Malik.

He also moved into commentary and now features in ICC events and the SA20. Steyn continues to play an important role in cricket, whether as a player, coach, or commentator.

South Africa Eye Another Win as Afghanistan Face Must-Win Situation

South Africa are favorites to secure the victory in the ongoing match against Afghanistan. In their first game against Canada, they scored 213 runs. Aiden Markram, David Miller, and Tristan Stubbs helped the team post the big total.

Lungi Ngidi took four wickets and broke the Canadian batting lineup. South Africa won the match by 57 runs. They will want another win to move closer to the Super 8s.

Afghanistan are under pressure after losing their first match to New Zealand. Gulbadin Naib scored a fighting fifty, but the bowlers could not defend 182 runs. They lost the game by five wickets. If Afghanistan lose again, their chances of reaching the next round will suffer badly.
