The England and Wales Board (ECB) have announced the 14-member England women’s squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India. The series begins on July 9, with the matches to be played at Northampton, Hove, and Chelmsford.

England women and India women have already battled it out in a one-off Test and the three ODI series. While India women’s led by Shafali Verma, Sneh Rana, and others managed to eke out a thrilling draw in the Test match at Bristol ground against England women’s team; the hosts bounced back strongly in the ODI series.

The multi-format series sits at 6-4 to England, with each T20I match worth two points. The squad sees the return of Danni Wyatt and Mady Villiers to the side, on the other hand, Kate Cross and Lauren Winfield-Hill return to play for their regional teams and will be available for this weekend’s Charlotte Edwards Cup action.

“We’ve played some good cricket across both the Test and ODIs and we’ve named a strong squad for the IT20 series. It’s 6-4 in the multi-format series and we’re pushing hard to win. We probably weren’t quite at our best in the third ODI so I’d like us to hit the ground running in the first IT20 and be ruthless,” Head Coach Lisa Keightley said.

India will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur in the T20I series and will be looking to do well after losing in the same format at home to South African women.
