A double blow for Afghanistan. The team, which is already under immense pressure because of the total India scored in the first innings, suffered an injury setback in the first innings.
Afghanistan’s debutant player, Darwish Rasooli, who is a middle-order batter, had to leave the field while fielding in the first innings due to cramps. According to the media reports, the Afghanistan middle-order batter was stretchered off the field with cramps.
Afghanistan's Darwish Rasooli had to leave the field in Lucknow.
In the debut match for the national side, none of the cricketers would want to be stretchered off, but Rasooli had to as he was in visible discomfort. It is worth noting that since the emergence of the Afghanistan cricket team, Darwish Rasooli walked out today at the Ekana cricket stadium in Lucknow as the 67th player in the ODIs for the national cricket team. It was a proud moment for the right-hand middle-order batter as he worked hard in domestic cricket.

Rasooli lost his father ahead of the 2nd ODI
Ahead of the match, Rasooli had to return to his home due to the death of his father. He rejoined the team ahead of the 2nd ODI match.
"Rasooli learnt of the death of his father when we were leaving the hotel in Chandigarh towards Dharamshala, and then he flew back home. He is back with us now and had a session with the team today," the Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi informed before the match in Lucknow.
"As a player, it is not easy for anyone to lose a family member, especially a mother or father. In Afghanistan, many fathers want their sons to become top cricketers. Darwish has that chance, as his father wanted him to become one of the best cricketers for Afghanistan. It was his father’s dream, and now he is trying to fulfil that dream," he added.
