Gujarat Titans have finalized the replacement of Glenn Phillips for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As per the reports in Newswire, it is learned that Sri Lanka National Cricket Team all-rounder Dasun Shanaka is all set to join the team.
In the middle of the IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans faced a massive blow as star all-rounder Glenn Phillips was ruled out of the entire league due to a groin injury. He suffered an injury during the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad and was taken off the field.

The addition of Dasun Shanaka will be a great boost for the Gujarat Titans, as they are lacking a seam bowling all-rounder in the team. The Shubman Gill-led side has most of their bases covered, and Shanaka's inclusion will further strengthen them.

Dasun Shanaka has been one of the finest all-rounders going around in T20 cricket. He has played a vital role for the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team in the format, along with the franchises that he has played for in the leagues across the world.
This will be the second stint for Dasun Shanaka with the Gujarat Titans in the IPL. The Sri Lanka National Cricket Team star was part of the franchise in 2023 and featured in three matches, scoring 26 runs. However, he didn't get to bowl in either of the three games that he played under the leadership of Hardik Pandya.
Dasun Shanaka recently featured for Dubai Capitals in the ILT20. He won the title with the team as he slammed 164 runs in 10 innings, averaging 27. He also took four wickets in that league. Following that, he was part of the Dambulla in a match of the National Super League 4-day tournament and the Sinhalese Sports Club in another match of the Major League Tournament.
