IPL 2025 suspended for one week amid the tensions between India and Pakistan

Coming to the IPL 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended the league for one week amid the tensions at the borders. This comes after the game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala was called off.

The match between the two teams got called off in between the first innings. Only 10.1 overs of the game were possible before the fans and the players were evacuated from the stadium. It came after the Pakistani drones attacked the Pathankot area, which is around 80 Km away from the stadium.

The call related to the resumption of the IPL 2025 will be taken after one week, after analysing the situation. Not only this, but franchises have refunded the tickets for the games that were scheduled in the coming week as well.

Releasing the official statement related to the suspension of the IPL 2025, BCCI said:

"The BCCI has decided to suspend the remainder of the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 with immediate effect for one week. Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders."
