The India National Cricket Team suffered a humiliating 408-run defeat against the South Africa National Cricket Team in the second and final Test at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday, November 26.
With this humiliating defeat, the Indian cricket team has suffered yet another embarrassing whitewash at home in Tests. Last year, the New Zealand cricket team had whitewashed the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team in a three-match Test series for the first time at home since 2000.
South Africa crush India by 408 runs in Guwahati Test, seal historic 2–0 whitewash on Indian soil
That humiliation ended India's 12-year series-winning run at home. And now, the defending champions of the ICC World Test Championship, the Proteas side, crushed India in the two-match Test series 2-0 to win their first-ever series on Indian soil after 25 years.

The Proteas side have been dominant ever since their embarkation on the tour. Riding on the confidence after winning the first Test by 30 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the South African side started strongly in the second and final Test against India at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
They posted a massive 489 runs on the board in their first innings thanks to Senuran Muthusamy's stunning century and Marco Jansen's record 93, with Kuldeep Yadav being the standout bowler for India with four wickets. In reply, India could manage only 201 runs, thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s fifty.
Marco Jansen and Simon Harmer starred in South Africa's memorable victory
Marco Jansen stole the show with his stunning bowling, finishing with impressive figures of 6/48. Simon Harmer also scalped three wickets.
The Proteas side continued the domination in the second innings, and their first-innings lead saw them hand a massive target of 549 runs to India in Guwahati.
In the second innings, Tristan Stubbs played a stunning knock of 94 runs, while Tony de Zorzi made 49 as the touring side declared their innings at 260/5.
Ravindra Jadeja was the standout bowler for India with four scalps. Chasing the target, India folded for just 140 runs, with Jadeja hitting a fighting fifty.

Fans demanded Gautam Gambhir's sacking
Harmer yet again led the Proteas bowling attack with a six-wicket haul as South Africa won the match by 408 runs in Guwahati and completed a historic whitewash in India. It was India’s biggest Test loss in terms of runs, and fans erupted in anger on social media.
Many have called for sacking Gautam Gambhir as head coach, while some demanded Rishabh Pant and Sai Sudharsan’s ouster from the red-ball setup since it is the team’s second whitewash in their own home conditions within 12 months.
Here's how fans react to India's another humiliating series loss:
I can only imagine what @anilkumble1074 & @RaviShastriOfc both tremendous former coaches who made India a champion team must be thinking in that commentary box today. They are watching the death of Indian Test cricket by Gautam Gambhir. #INDvsSA

Time for Gautam Gambhir to step down, India dont need a micromanaging type coach, it needs a systematic, performance based selection, result oriented and a people's person type coach. Just my opinion as a non indian looking at it from outside #justsaying@BCCI

If Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir genuinely care about Indian cricket, it’s time they take responsibility.
The team looks directionless, the decisions look confused, and the results speak for themselves.

Gautam Gambhir should resign now or bcci should remove him to save Indian test cricket. You can't play test cricket with a T 20 mindset. #INDVsSA
