Pacer Deepak Chahak had a weird night on March 23 (Sunday) during the match between CSK and MI at Chennai. Chahar, who has been a key part of CSK's squad over the last few years, was playing for their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians this time around.

Playing against his beloved team would have been a bit weird but the former CSK cricketer had a good time overall with bat and ball. However, Deepak Chahar's sister Malti Chahar didn't back down after seeing him play against his former team.

Malti took to social media and took a hilarious dig at the situation by posting a picture from the famous Indian movie 'Baahubali'. Her story went viral on social media and it resulted in various responses.

Malti Chahar's hilarious Instagram story on Deepak Chahar's situation

Malti Chahar posted a collage on her Instagram story which showed her brother Deepak in Mumbai Indians' jersey and also a scene from the movie 'Baahubali'. The scene shows a character known as Katappa backstabbing the protagonist named as Baahubali.

Deepak Chahar returned to a ground that has been close to him over the years. He has played for a no. of years for CSK at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and knew the conditions well.

Deepak Chahar shines with bat and ball

While Mumbai Indians lost the match, Deepak Chahar had a good time with both bat and ball. In the first innings of the match, the 32-year-old showed his batting capabilities while batting at No. 9 and scored an unbeaten 28 off just 15 balls.

His knock included 2 fours and 2 sixes as it propelled MI past the 15o-run mark. Chahar then returned and did what he has been doing for Chennai Super Kings over the years. He picked up a wicket with the new ball as he surprised the opener Rahul Tripathi with a bouncer.

He bowled two overs with the new ball and finished the match with 1-18 in two overs. MI skipper Suryakumar Yadav didn't give Chahar any overs at the death as spinners bowled the bulk of the overs towards the end.

Deepak Chahar's camaraderie with CSK's players was visible during the match as well. He even sledged MS Dhoni after the latter arrived at the crease later in the game. He was also seen having fun with several CSK players, who are his former teammates.

CSK trump MI yet again

The game went the home team's way as Chennai Super Kings registered yet another win over their arch-rivals. Chennai first reduced Mumbai to a below-par score of 155-9 in 20 overs.

Despite a few hiccups, they chased down the target comfortably with five balls to spare. In the last few years, CSK have had the better of MI and they continued their dominance over their arch-rivals here as well.

With this defeat, Mumbai continue their unwanted record of not having won the opening match of the IPL since 2012. The five-time defending champions are known for their slow starts but gain momentum as the tournament progresses.
