Deepti Sharma on the verge of becoming World No. 1 ODI bowler

India Women's National Cricket Team all-rounder Deepti Sharma has been rewarded for her performances in the first two ODIs of the ongoing series against the New Zealand Women's National Cricket Team. She has now attained a career-high 687 rating points in the ICC ODI bowling rankings.
Deepti Sharma surpassed Kate Cross and Megan Schutt to the No. 2 spot in the ICC ODI rankings for bowlers in women's cricket. The India National Cricket Team player is only behind Sophie Ecclestone. The England bowler is at the top spot and is ahead of the Sharma with a massive 83 rating points.

Deepti Sharma has been vital for the India Women's National Cricket Team with the ball in the ongoing series. She took three wickets and had an economy rate of 3.42, which is one of the main reasons behind her rise in the ICC rankings in the two games. She also is at No.3 spot in T20I rankings only behind Ecclestone and Sadia Iqbal.
Apart from Deepti Sharma, New Zealand Women's National Cricket Team player Lea Tahuhu also moved up three places to 12th while Amelia Kerr is up one spot to 13th, and Sophie Devine moved up 9 positions to get to equal 30th spot in the ICC ODI rankings for bowlers in women's cricket.

Sophie Devine, who played an innings of 79 runs in the second game and picked 3/27 with the ball, made gains in the ICC ODI rankings for batters in women's cricket. After her heroics in the second game, she gained three spots to eighth. Apart from her, Amelia Kerr also rose one spot up to 11th.
Suzie Bates (up two spots to joint 15th) and Maddy Green (up seven spots to 18th) also made substantial gains. From the Indian, it was Jemimah Rodrigues who scored 35 runs in the first ODI and made a valiant rise in the ICC ODI rankings for batters in Women’s cricket.
Both Deepti and Sophie Devine also made strong gains within the top ten on the all-rounders' table. While the New Zealand National Cricket Team skipper moved up two places to No. 7, the India National Cricket Team all-rounder jumped up one spot to No. 4.
Deepti Sharma picks 3/39 with the ball in the 3rd ODI
Deepti also played a massive role for her team with the ball in the ongoing third game against the New Zealand Women's National Cricket Team. The all-rounder picked three wickets in the 10 overs that he bowled. She also bowled one maiden over and returned with the figures 3/39.
Apart from Deepti, Priya Sharma was the top performer for the team with the ball. She picked up two wickets and gave away 41 runs. Based on her effort with the ball, India restricted New Zealand to a total of 231 runs in the 50 overs.
While talking about her performance, Priya Sharma said:
"Feeling really happy, the dream I saw has come true today. (On the celebrations)That was just instinctive. Harman was advising me throughout the spell, she told me to bowl more googlies to the left hander. I’ve worked very hard and was very nervous on how the ball will come out the hand today, glad it worked out fine."
