Delhi Capitals (DC) secured a nine-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 14th match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025. Delhi Capitals' social media admin trolled RCB for deleting a tweet after losing the match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, February 17.

The Delhi-based franchise became the first team to secure a spot in the WPL 2025 playoffs after the victory over RCB, led by Smriti Mandhana. Chasing a target of 148, DC reached the total with more than four overs to spare. Shafali Verma (80) and Jess Jonassen (61) hit unbeaten half-centuries during the chase.

Delhi Capitals Troll RCB Admin for Deleting Tweet After WPL 2025 Defeat

Before their clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru competed in a match on February 17 at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara, where RCB secured an eight-wicket win.

During that match, DC were manifesting their team's win. However, RCB's social media team humorously responded to DC’s tweet with "Uno Reverse."

After Delhi Capitals won the reverse fixture, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru social media team quickly deleted their previous "Uno Reverse" tweet. However, DC had already taken a screenshot and pointed out the deleted tweet by captioning their post with "Tweet deleted?"

The tweet from the Capitals mocking the Royal Challengers went viral on X, receiving over 11,000 likes within three hours. Meanwhile, RCB's social media team has yet to respond to DC's post.

Ellyse Perry's Batting Efforts Go in Vain in Bengaluru's Final Home Match

Earlier, Ellyse Perry scored an unbeaten 60 to help the Bengaluru team reach a competitive total of 147/5 in 20 overs. However, Delhi chased down the 148-run target with ease. Shafali (80* off 43) and Jess Jonassen (61*) forged an unbeaten partnership, sealing the win with nearly five overs to spare.

Shafali, who had been dismissed in the 40s three times, finally reached her first half-century of the tournament. She reached the milestone in just 30 balls with a six over cover off Georgia Wareham. With this victory, DC strengthened their position at the top, with 10 points from seven matches.

Can Royal Challengers Bengaluru Secure a Playoff Spot in WPL 2025?

The defending champions started their WPL 2025 campaign strong with two consecutive wins in the Vadodara leg. However, their performance dipped when the tournament moved to Bengaluru, where they suffered four consecutive defeats despite playing at home.

The Capitals secured a top-three finish in the points table. Meanwhile, RCB have dropped to fourth place but still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs. To advance to the playoffs, they must win their remaining matches against UP Warriorz (March 8) and Mumbai Indians (March 11) by convincing margins.
