The atmosphere at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi was electric on Monday (April 27), but how things unfolded during the IPL 2026 clash has left everyone stunned. Delhi Capitals (DC) were completely outplayed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and another heavy defeat has now put them under immense pressure, and many slammed their campaign.

After suffering a six-wicket defeat against the Punjab Kings despite scoring 264 runs in their 20 overs, the Delhi Capitals suffered an embarrassing collapse in their second consecutive home game, as they were bowled out for just 75 runs in 16.3 overs.

Delhi Capitals' confusing and inconsistent performances slammed by DDCA

RCB chased down the target in 6.3 overs with 9 wickets in hand at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday. After Delhi Capitals' humiliation at home, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) director Shyam Sunder Sharma slammed the franchise’s inconsistent and confusing performances in the ongoing IPL 2026.

He has pointed out that the Delhi Capitals have gone from scoring big totals and still losing to collapsing badly in other matches, saying their problem is not just form but also luck.

The DDCA director was quoted as saying by ANI: “When Delhi scores 265, they end up losing. When they fail to reach even 100... their stars are not aligned. They need to get some rituals or prayers done to secure a victory.”

DDCA official stunned by Virat Kohli hype; calls him “Betaaj Badshah” of the game

He also revealed how massive the craze was for this DC vs RCB IPL 2026 clash as Kohli was playing in his home ground, saying he had never seen such extreme demand for tickets in his entire career. Sharma further added, “In my 40 years of experience, I have never witnessed such pressure regarding match tickets as I did for this game.”

The DDCA director also made it clear that criticism around Virat Kohli is simply not justified. He called the former Indian captain the “Betaaj Badshah” and said there is no greater player than him.

Sharma signed off by saying, “For those who say Virat is 'finished', he is going to be playing for at least another five years. He is the Bindas Badshah, Betaaj Badshah. There has never been a greater player than him. It is only out of humility that he refers to others as seniors. In reality, there is no player greater. Just look at the magnitude of his fan following.”

RCB shines again as Virat Kohli creates IPL history

Notably, the RCB icon once again made history. He became the first player ever to cross 9000 runs in IPL history. Kohli has been in great form this season, and he even played an unbeaten knock of 23 runs off 15 in RCB’s massive win over DC.

He is currently the fourth-leading run scorer this season with 351 runs. With this dominant win, RCB have now strengthened their position at the second spot in the IPL 2026 points table with six wins in eight matches. On the other side, Delhi’s fifth loss has pushed them down to seventh place with 6 points from 8 games they have played so far this season.
