Pakistan skipper Salman Agha opened up about his team’s struggles against India during the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Salman said that Pakistan has been outplayed by India throughout the tournament, adding that the Men in Blue are dominating the current era.
India defeated archrivals Pakistan by five wickets in the Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai on Sunday, September 28. Notably, the summit clash was played amid heightened geopolitical tensions between the two nations. The teams avoided the customary handshakes before and after the matches in the Asia Cup.
We Are Not Playing Good Cricket Against Them - Salman Agha
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Salman Agha acknowledged his team’s struggles against India during the Asia Cup 2025, having lost all three matches to the Men in Blue, including the final.
Salman Agha stated that Pakistan was outplayed in the tournament but remained optimistic for the future. He noted that India are currently dominating, just as Pakistan had in the 1990s, and added that Pakistan will soon turn the tide and start winning against their archrivals again.
"We are not playing good cricket against them, and if you look at it overall, we are still ahead of them. Every team has an era—maybe this is theirs. We used to beat them in the '90s; now they are beating us, and you will see very soon we will start beating them," Salman Agha told reporters.

India Responsible For This Rather Than Me - Salman Agha
Salman Ali Agha blamed India for sending the wrong message to cricket fans worldwide, especially younger audiences. He emphasized that cricketers are seen as role models, and such actions fail to inspire children watching the game.
"People think of us as role models, but if we're behaving like this, we're not inspiring them. What happened shouldn't have happened, but you should ask the people (India) responsible for this rather than me," Agha added.
Team India Had a Flawless Campaign In the Asia Cup 2025
Team India had a flawless campaign in the Asia Cup 2025, winning all seven of their matches to claim the title unbeaten. They won all their group stage matches and carried the momentum through all three Super 4 games before defeating Pakistan in the final.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led team showcased exceptional performance throughout the tournament. This was India’s ninth Asia Cup triumph and their fourth T20I tournament win without losing a single match.
Suryakumar won the toss and opted to bowl first. Pakistan openers Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman added 84 runs in 9.3 overs. Pakistan were at 113/1 in the 13th over but then collapsed, losing nine wickets for just 33 runs to be bowled out for 146 in 19.1 overs.
Abhishek Sharma (5), Shubman Gill (12), and Suryakumar Yadav (1) were dismissed early, leaving India at 20/3 during the powerplay. Tilak Varma guided India to victory with partnerships with Sanju Samson (24) and Shivam Dube (33). Rinku Singh smashed the winning runs in the final over.
