The choreographer and actor Dhanashree Verma is stealing the spotlight once again, this time not for her controversial divorce from the Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, but for her strength and grace. After months of online trolling and harsh criticism, she is winning hearts with her bold and confident presence on the reality show “Rise and Fall,” hosted by Ashneer Grover.
With every episode on the Amazon MX Player, fans are falling in love with Dhanashree because of her confidence, how gracefully she’s handling the trolling and criticism, and how she’s staying in control over her personal struggles without letting them define her.

The choreographer’s high-profile divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal has been one of the biggest controversies of 2025. However, the actor did not share her side of the story entirely, but she has indirectly slammed Yuzvendra Chahal for making unnecessary drama, like wearing that “be your own sugar daddy” t-shirt and the latest remark on Raj Shamani’s podcast that they were faking their relationship towards the end.
Dhanashree Verma said on the show, “I didn’t want to touch up on a few things at all. There are two people, and if some fight happens between us, one person is saying, "Let’s end this; that happened, okay?" Then stay in the same lane. Why do you need to create something… Everyone has to maintain self-respect, and when you are in a marriage, you need to keep the respect of the other person also intact.”

I could have also disrespected Yuzvendra Chahal: Dhanashree Verma
Dhanashree said that she respects Yuzvendra Chahal, and she chose not to bring him down; instead, she is focused on maintaining dignity, and working on oneself is far more powerful. Slamming Chahal, she noted that tearing someone else down to make yourself look better is completely wrong.
The choreographer added, “I could have also disrespected him. You don’t think I have things to say as a woman? But he was my husband, I respected him even when I was married, and I have to respect the fact that I was married to him. If you want to show yourself as a good person, then show it through your work. Why put somebody else down to clean your own image?”
When she was asked whether the divorce had made her cynical about love, Dhanashree said that this word is “too harsh,” but she simply isn’t interested in love anymore.
